In Mexican culture, the indigenous items in clothing have different symbols with special meanings, so I investigate them, intending to return their importance. At the same time, that images are made up of metaphors linked with the worldview of the pre-Hispanic ancestors, it is the main reason which that linguistic resource can be a media by the merger with a new artistic language through the colors. The similarities between both realities are incredible, and magic, that strength comes from all their parts together. Thus, with that is possible to generate more interest and respect for our identity and start removing the invisible line that split the crafts from art. In that way, for the development of this art project was required to create a complex study plan and, the first step was analysis and knowing about our origin.
The first image shows how each figure represents something and how their metaphoric connotation is linked with the thought in that time. Then, in the contribution of this investigation, I decided to create stamps with some items into the traditional textile that together can be made up stories as narratives, in which the colors are the key for reading them. The meaning and the color are work with the visual and tactile senses. Consequently, their interaction is the strongest.
